Been a long time since my last post. Trying to get back to normal life since moving and adopting a new feline friend. I thought I might begin he process by cracking open the very awesome Raiden from Square Enix’s Play Art’s Kai line. A small gallery awaits, folks.

Figma Tekkaman blade

Max Factory has brought us a really nice rendition of Tekkaman Blade. Although the opening theme may not be up to par (check out you tube), the action figure is pretty damn awesome!

SRC Volfogg Gallery is LIVE!!

December 27th, 2012 by Kevin Comer

I’ve been a fan of GaoGaiGar for a long time now, so when Bandai announced SRC Volfogg, I couldn’t preorder fast enough. The cool thing is that this guy comes with a section of GGG (Gutsy Geoid Guard) Big Order Room. I haven’t cracked that accessory open yet and probably will not until all the sections are released. So far it looks like Bandai have announced one more regular release figure set of Kyodai mechs the semetrical docking brothers Hyoryu and Enryu  that form Choryujin and one Tamashii Web Exclusive of Furyu and Rairyu that form Gekiryujin. Both come with a 1/4 of the BOR, but the TWE comes with an actual 1:1 scale die-cast Key to Victory! Anyways enough blathering. Go check out pics of the awesome Volfogg! Thanks for looking!

EDIT : Pics are up! Click on a photo… ;)

FINALLY!! Got a new camera with a few more mega-pixels. So, time to do a few tests. My subjects for this posts are a couple of really not-well-known mechs. The Galient from Panzer World Galient and Black Knight Katana from Volks’ V’Locker line of web exclusive mecha block toy series Duel Knights. More pics soon as I edit the rest for size! YES!

Figma Black Rock Shooter!

October 27th, 2012 by Kevin Comer

So far I’ve been enjoying posing this action figure. Lots of dynamic poses to do and plenty of spare hands, faces and accessories to use as would be expected by Max Factory’s figma line. Base is a scratch built custom for the figure. I modeled it after the one the came with the 1st release 1/8 scale figure. I used sculpey and styrene (progress album is in the same gallery with figma BRS). The only thing wrong is I need another camera. The camera on the iPhone is ok, but it’s not gonna cut it for the really nice pics. So, my apologies for the low quality on these.

Riobot Gurren Lagann!!

So, I’m not sure, but I think I might be an owner of one of the greatest action figures ever made. Every detail Sen-ti-nel could think of they’ve packed into this toy! If you’re calling yourself a giant robot fan and and you don’t have this piece, you’re crazy!! I know it’s not necessarily an accurate anime representation, but dammit who cares! Go get it!

This is probably my pick for TOTY (toy of the year) GATTAI!!!!

Gundam (The Origin) GFF Metal Composite

September 15th, 2012 by Kevin Comer

One of the coolest Gundam figures I’ve owned. I’ve had these pics on my computer for about a year just hiding. Figured it was time to put ‘em up while I have a free bit of time. This 1/100 scale figure packs in a lot of die-cast and has a really nice presence. Overall great piece. Click the Gundam for pics and enjoy!

I forgot I still have a webpage to update! Huhr! So…yeah, I’m a bit of a Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure fan. With the fighting game re-released on PSN, new toys and a new anime and game project on the horizon, what better time than now to show off some of the swag in my JBA collection! First up is Joseph Joestar, the protagonist of JBA part II “Battle Tendency”.

Super Robot Chogokin GaoGaiGar!!

August 19th, 2011 by Kevin Comer

Starting weekend slacking early. Received SRC GaoGaiGar yesterday from Amiami. Pretty much a piece that is sold out everywhere online. Preorders for the re-release are pending at the usual spots.

Just some quick impressions here. A relatively heavy toy for something about 5-6” tall.  That’s of course due to the die-cast materials Bandai has used for the feet and legs. Engineering-wise, Bandai has done, in my opinion, a really nice job of adding articulation and movement in all the right joints and places. Paint apps are very nice as well. A few QC issues are noticeable however. My piece has a floppy groin joint with the right leg. Nothing too horrible, but you do notice it. Also a bit of a chipped piece of plastic on the rear end, but overall not a distraction.

My first experience with SRC and I highly recommend this to  Super Robot fans. Link to the gallery is on the photo below! Enjoy!
